PRIM&R Announces Appointment of Ianthe Bryant-Gawthrop as Director of Programs

BOSTON– Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) today announced the appointment of Ianthe Bryant-Gawthrop, MS, CRA, CIP, as PRIM&R’s new director of programs.
Bryant-Gawthrop has a wealth of experience and expertise in molecular pharmacology, regulatory science, higher education leadership, and research compliance. She has a deep understanding of both scientific concepts and the interests of PRIM&R's diverse stakeholders; her work with PRIM&R will begin on Monday, October 21.
Most recently, Bryant-Gawthrop served as the senior director for research regulatory affairs at Purdue University, working as the human protections administrator, overseeing the university’s Human Research Protection Program (HRPP), Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and the Post Approval Monitoring Program.

Bryant-Gawthrop holds a Bachelor of Science in genetics and microbiology and a Master of Science in medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology from Purdue University; she is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education and has earned a micro-credential in health law. In her role at PRIM&R, she will be instrumental in shaping the strategy, operations, and metrics for the education team. She will direct PRIM&R's online learning and in-person educational programs, provide leadership and mentorship to the team, and spearhead the development of new educational initiatives. “We are thrilled to welcome Ianthe to our team here at PRIM&R,” said PRIM&R Executive Director Ivy R. Tillman, EdD, CIP. “Her extensive background and dedication to education and research compliance will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our educational offerings and support our community in navigating the complexities of research ethics.”
