Membership at a Glance
Research oversight never stands still. New regulations, guidance, and best practices keep arriving, all while you manage the daily demands of overseeing research involving humans and other animals. PRIM&R membership helps you keep pace, with continuing education, timely policy updates, and a community of more than 3,200 peers who understand your work.
As a member, you can attend every PRIM&R Webinar and Federal Public Policy Briefings at no additional cost. You’ll also receive the monthly Member Digest, CIP® and CPIA® Companion for exam self-study, access to conference recordings, and member pricing on PRIM&R Workshops, Flash Learns, and the PRIM&R Annual Conference.
An individual membership is $315 per year, and two-year ($565) and three-year ($800) memberships lower your annual rate. Students, retired professionals, and residents of low- and middle-income countries can join for $155 per year. PRIM&R does not currently offer group rates, and any membership can be transferred to a colleague.
Many members ask their employers to cover dues, and we’re here to help you make that request. Below, you’ll find a ready-to-send email, the membership brochure, and tips for building a strong case.

What Members Are Saying
“I am at a small institution and wear various hats related to research. Having access to information, training, etc., through a national organization is crucial in order for me to succeed at my job and stay current with policies and national trends.”
PRIM&R Member
“PRIM&R has always played an integral role in my career… Over the years PRIM&R has become my professional family and a place where I have been able to develop and maintain life-long friendships.”

Three Questions to Answer Before You Ask
A specific request is a persuasive one. Before you reach out to your supervisor, take a few minutes to think through these questions.
How will membership help you in your role?
Think about the regulations, guidance, or responsibilities on your desk right now, and the PRIM&R programs that speak to them.
How will your institution benefit?
What you learn can strengthen your whole team. Consider how you will share it with your IRB, IACUC, or office.
Which programs will you use this year?
List the webinars, briefings, and events you plan to attend, along with their nonmember prices. The numbers often make the case on their own.
