Funds to Support

Your gift to PRIM&R supports education, public policy, and programs that strengthen ethical research and oversight. You may choose to direct your donation to a specific fund based on the area of work you are most passionate about, or give to the General Fund to support PRIM&R’s highest priorities and emerging needs.

Fund Donations

General Fund
Unless otherwise specified, planned gifts to PRIM&R are directed to the General Fund. Flexible, unrestricted support allows PRIM&R to respond to emerging needs, strengthen programs, and sustain the community working to uphold ethical research practices.
Joan Rachlin Scholarship Fund
The Joan Rachlin Scholarship Fund was established in honor of PRIM&R’s founding executive director, Joan Rachlin. Joan championed the development of conference scholarships to ensure that professionals from resource-scarce settings around the world could access key learning opportunities. This fund supports PRIM&R’s current conference scholarship programs: the Institutional Capacity Building Scholarship (which serves teams from HBCUs, HSIs, TCUs) and the Global Research Scholarship (which serves IRB/REC staff/members and researchers from LMICs).

Pillars of PRIM&R Fund
The Pillars of PRIM&R Fund was established in honor of the Pillars of PRIM&R—individuals who were integral to PRIM&R's founding and early growth. This fund supports the Pillars of PRIM&R Outstanding Poster Award, which is given to acknowledge outstanding projects or efforts designed to improve human research protections programs or animal care and use programs, through better education, tools, procedures, practices, or which contribute to empirical research or scholarship in the research ethics field.

Donation Levels

The Ampersand Society
The Ampersand Society recognizes individuals who make leadership gifts in support of PRIM&R’s mission. These contributions strengthen PRIM&R’s ability to convene the research community, expand education and professional development opportunities, and engage in thoughtful public policy discussions that advance ethical research.
Members of the Ampersand Society play an important role in sustaining the resources, guidance, and professional community that support responsible research practices across the research enterprise. Those who donate at least $1,000 or more during 12-month period - through a monthly contribution ($84) or one-time gift, are recognized through the Ampersand Society, entitling you to additional benefits and recognition.
