New Conference Model, New Opportunities

The process for ensuring ethical research practices in private companies, such as pharmaceutical companies and Contract Research Organizations, can differ significantly from research in academia and government, but is no less critical to maintaining public trust and good science. The new PRIM&R Annual Conference, which will bring together professionals from across human subjects research, animal research, and beyond, offers a wider range of content than ever for those working in an industry research setting.

Attendees can discuss common themes and address shared challenges. They can learn more about managing public perception, understanding, applying ethical frameworks, and adapting to emerging research trends. They can connect with other research stakeholders, including federal regulators; those working with IACUCs, IRBs, IBC's and compliance departments; research program leadership; legal counsel; public affairs professionals; and more!

Industry topics on the agenda include:

  • Ethical foundations and research review strategies for the industry setting
  • Secondary use of biological samples
  • Decentralized clinical trials
  • The return of genetic information
  • Considerations for including employees in research (in academia, government, and private industry)
  • Balancing the pressures of getting new therapies to clinical trials with ensuring robust study design
  • Communicating and fostering transparency with the public and legislators
  • Creating collaborative external relationships
Convenient virtual format

Convenient virtual format

The conference is fully virtual this year, so you can easily tune into the sessions that most interest you and fit them into your fast-paced schedule. There are four days of content (December 12 - 15), and registrants have the option to add in-depth, half-day workshops on December 6 and 8. Attend live sessions or view recordings at your convenience.

Using the interactive agenda, build a conference experience that most relates to your day-to-day work or that extends beyond. Each of the four days will include a mix of sessions geared toward those working in human subjects protections, animal care and use, and beyond at a variety of professional levels (VPs, directors, managers, chairs, administrators, and more). Time is also reserved for networking sessions and collaboration across the field and among the various institutional stakeholders in attendance.
