PRIM&R Announces Appointment of Rachele Hendricks-Sturrup, DHSc, MSc, MA to Board of Directors

February 8, 2023 BOSTON – Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) today announced the appointment of Rachele Hendricks-Sturrup, DHSc, MSc, MA, to its Board of Directors. Dr. Hendricks-Sturrup brings a wealth of experience to PRIM&R, as she begins her three-year term on the Board of Directors. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Hendricks-Sturrup—an engagement expert, researcher, and bioethicist—to PRIM&R’s Board of Directors,” said Elisa A. Hurley, PhD, executive director of PRIM&R. “With her addition to our Board leadership, PRIM&R is even better positioned to advocate for ethics, welfare, inclusion, and trust as central components to science, medicine, and research.” Dr. Hendricks-Sturrup is the Research Director of Real-World Evidence at the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy in Washington. As a researcher, bioethicist, and policy practitioner, her work centers on addressing implementation and ethical, legal, and social implications at the intersection of health policy and innovation. “It is with great enthusiasm and honor that I join the PRIM&R Board of Directors to work alongside a fantastic team of expert practitioners and thought leaders. I look forward to advancing PRIM&R’s mission to uphold the highest standard of ethics and responsibility within our constantly evolving landscape of medicine and research,” said Dr. Hendricks-Sturrup. Dr. Hendricks-Sturrup received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Chicago State University, her Master’s in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University, her Master’s in Legal Studies from the University of Illinois, and her Doctor of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University. She completed a predoctoral internship with the National Health Service in London, and postdoctoral research training within the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hendricks-Sturrup began her term on the PRIM&R Board of Directors last month.
