PRIM&R Flash Learn
COI Basics for Research Compliance Professionals
Wednesday, July 9, 2025 1:00–1:30 PM ET
Overview
Are you confident in your institution’s approach to identifying and managing conflicts of interest (COIs)? Whether financial, professional, or relational, conflicts—both real and perceived—can erode trust in the research enterprise if not addressed with transparency and consistency. In a global research environment, institutions must navigate diverse regulatory landscapes while upholding shared ethical standards.
This 30-minute Flash Learn program provides a concise, practical overview of how to recognize and manage COIs in research protocol review. Through real-world examples and frameworks informed by national and international guidance, we will explore strategies to strengthen your current processes or establish new ones. Topics include effective disclosure practices, oversight mechanisms, and the role of trust in ethical research relationships.
Whether you are working to comply with U.S. federal regulations, align with international standards, or enhance institutional credibility, this session offers actionable insights to support your goals. Participants will leave with tools they can apply immediately to foster transparency and protect the integrity of the research process. Join PRIM&R’s Director of Programs, Ianthe “Cookie” Bryant-Gawthrop, for a 30-minute session exploring how to identify and manage conflicts of interest (COIs) in protocol review.
