What Experience Qualifies?

Candidates must be responsible for the development, management, implementation, oversight, and administration of the:
- IACUC protocol review, from submission through approval
- Semiannual program reviews and facility inspections

- Regulatory and accreditation processes

Eligibility Is Based on What You Do
Your job title alone does not determine eligibility.
To qualify, your experience must include substantive responsibility for IACUC administration activities.
Your Role Alone May Not Qualify
Serving in one of the following roles, by itself, does not meet the primary eligibility requirements:
IACUC Member | Veterinary Professional or Paraprofessional | Institutional Official | Investigator or Research Staff | Laboratory Animal Facility Management or Staff
Professionals in these roles may still qualify if their responsibilities include qualifying IACUC administration activities.
You may still qualify if your responsibilities include the IACUC administration activities outlined above.
Part-Time Experience Can Count
You do not need to spend 100% of your time on IACUC administration for your experience to count. Part-time experience is calculated based on the percentage of effort devoted to qualifying IACUC administration activities.
1 Year x 50% Program Work = 6 Months
of qualifying experience
1 Year x 30% Program Work = 4 Months
of qualifying experience
