CPIA® Recertification by Continuing Education Documentation

Individuals are responsible for obtaining source documentation (certificates, letters of attendance, etc.) for recertification credit and for including copies of such documentation when they submit their recertification materials. CPIAs should also retain their own copies of this source documentation.
  • An Excel CE Tracker is available to keep a record of continuing education credits.
  • Recertification candidates should complete the "CEU Tracker" tab on the spreadsheet; credit hours will automatically populate in the "Credit Hours" tab. The continuing education tracker document should be sent as an Excel file.
  • Documentation for all continuing education credits must be included when recertification materials are submitted.
  • Documentation should include the title of the program, the course sponsor, the date attended, and the number of credit hours earned. For those events that run concurrent sessions, CPIAs should indicate the sessions they attended.
  • Suitable documentation for online learning opportunities that don’t issue certificates of attendance include copies of sign-in attendance sheets; logs detailing the program title, date of participation, and length of the program that are signed by a supervisor; emails confirming attendance after the conclusion of the program.
  • For PRIM&R webinars, candidates can document their participation by printing a copy of their certificates log, which is located here.
  • For PRIM&R conferences, candidates can access their certificates here by clicking on the My Activity tab, and then selecting the Content tab.
  • To access the PRIMR25 certificate of attendance for sessions attended, both the session and conference evaluations must be completed by February 14, 2026. Navigate to the PRIMR25 Conference Page, log in, click on "PRIMR25/SBER25 Evaluations" on the left menu, and then follow the instructions. For step-by-step guidance on completing PRIMR25 evaluations, watch this video.
  • For conferences starting in 2023 or later, attendees who did not complete their individual session and overall conference evaluations prior to the deadline will not have the certificates of attendance in their profile. Conference attendees that wish to request credits for sessions attended may follow the steps below:
  • For PRIMR23/SBER23: download the PRIMR23 Conference Session Transcript and follow the instructions listed on this form. A PDF version of the PRIMR23/SBER23 agenda is available for reference.
  • For PRIMR24: download the PRIMR24 Conference Session Transcript and follow the instructions listed on this form. A PDF version of the PRIMR24 agenda is available for reference.
  • Submit the PRIMR23/SBER23 and PRIMR24 Conference Session Transcripts as documentation for your conference attendance.
  • If you are seeking to use credits for recertification purposes, do not submit any conference agendas that have been highlighted to note which sessions were attended; only the completed Conference Session Transcripts will be accepted as suitable documentation.
  • If you are having issues obtaining your certificates of attendance, you may need to authenticate your account.
  • Continuing education credits must be earned within the current five-year certification period.
