Blog Squad

About the Blog Squad

Are you a PRIM&R member who enjoys writing about research ethics? If so, we want to hear from you!

PRIM&R invites members who have an interest in writing about ethical issues in research to share their perspectives on the topics covered during our webinars, short-course programming, and annual conferences. These contributions are then published on Ampersand, PRIM&R’s blog, and you can share your bylined posts with your boss, colleagues, friends, and family.

We seek motivated, professional PRIM&R members who possess strong writing skills, an interest in research ethics, the ability to meet deadlines, and a knack for creativity and positive thinking to contribute posts related to the topics discussed in our conferences or webinars.

To apply for any of the open Blog Squad opportunities listed below, please complete the online application (it's the same application for all).

Become a part of the PRIM&R Blog Squad

Members of  the Blog Squad for PRIM&R's 2020 Advancing Ethical Research Conference (AER20) will provide an insider's view of the virtual conference by writing up to 3 blog posts in exchange for complimentary registration for AER20.

Application deadline:  October 16, 2020

To apply for the PRIM&R Conference Blog Squad, please complete the online application. In the application, you will be asked to provide a statement of purpose, brief biography, headshot, and an introductory blog post. For examples of introductory blog posts, see introductions from past Blog Squad members on Ampersand.

This year, we will present AER20 as a series of shorter, half-day online events spread out over three weeks (December 1-2, December 8-9, and December 15-16). Those interested in serving on the Blog Squad for this event are welcome to apply to cover this series of online events in part or in full. We will aim to offer complimentary registration for the full series where requested, but depending on applications received, and to ensure complete coverage of all three weeks of the conference, PRIM&R may offer partial complimentary registration in some cases (i.e. if someone applies for all three weeks, we may only be able to offer complimentary registration for one if the other weeks of the conference are already well covered by other chosen applicants). Those selected to serve on the Blog Squad will only be expected to write blog content for the weeks of the conference for which they received complimentary registration.

Online Application

Every year, PRIM&R offers a rich selection of webinars that provide timely coverage of and in-depth focus on emerging issues in research ethics. To help capture and analyze the ethical issues shared during these webinars, PRIM&R welcomes members to join our Webinar Blog Squad. Members selected to blog about a webinar will receive complimentary registration to that webinar in exchange for one blog post about a topic or issue raised during the program.

To apply for the Webinar Blog Squad, please complete the online application. There is no formal application period for our Webinar Blog Squad. Applications are accepted for all webinars on a rolling basis.

All upcoming webinars are listed on our website; if an upcoming program is of interest to you, please note this when you submit your application.
